About the Builder
Greetings, and welcome to Smoky MTN Custom Rods.
My name is Caden Watson. I have been building my own rods and wish to share my talent with you. Even though I am still new to the rod-building industry, I have been fishing my entire life and know exactly what to expect out of each rod I build. Like any other kid I grew up pond hopping, catching anything that would bite. As I grew, I came to realize that my passion was in bass tournaments. I started tournament fishing as early as 8 or 9 with small local clubs and carried that right over into my high school and college career. In high school, my partner and I qualified for the High School Bass Master Classic and won. I participated in the Collegiate Bass Master Classic three times with one victory. I have been all over the county competing, and have developed a vast knowledge of what you expect and should need in your own up-and-coming adventures.
I now work full-time as an environmental engineer in Knoxville, TN, but the love of fishing will always be first in my heart. That is why I am now pouring my soul into my fishing rods and doing what I love. My hope is that my rods can create that same passion for the sport for everyone who uses them.
